Solo Travel - Stockholm, Sweden
In my final summer at home, I decided to take a solo trip to Stockholm because I had been fascinated by the culture, history and language for a few years.
My time there was spent in a hostel and I spent my days visiting museums and events. Booking my trip over Midsommar (midsummer) weekend, I was able to partake in the festivities around the maypole.
Volunteering
Over the years I have taken part in various volunteering opportunities, as a goal to give back to my local community.
I have participated in food banks, serving drinks at fundraising galas, a forest clean up, student ambassador at high school events...
5 day film course at Prep'art (11e arrondissement, Paris)
During the fall break, I undertook a comprehensive week-long film course at Prep'art Cinema, located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. Throughout this program, I actively collaborated with a a group of other students in order to produce a captivating 5-minute film.
In a unique dual role, I directed both on-set filming and independently handled the intricacies of post-production. The project featured the valuable contribution of dedicated volunteer actors, adding depth and authenticity to our cinematic endeavor. The experience, guided by seasoned mentors, significantly refined my technical skills and deepened my understanding of the collaborative nature inherent in filmmaking. This immersive week at Prep'art Cinema has undeniably left an enduring impact, equipping me with invaluable insights and hands-on proficiency for my future pursuits in the realm of visual storytelling.
French Alps, Tignes
During 1 week of August 2023, I spent my days surrounded by people of my age, with whom I did activities with. Among many, the highlights were kayaking, hiking and skateboarding. This was an unforgettable experience as I was able to be surrounded by nature and spend time isolated from the bustling city of Paris.
Pride Parade Paris 2023
During the course of a day, members and allies to the LGBTQ+ community came together and took to the streets to express their joy and pride in who they are. Taken as an opportunity to take photos, I brought my camera with me to photograph the crowd.

As part of our school network composed of numerous schools across six continents, we provide our students with unique opportunities for international exchanges. Recently, Audrey, an Ermitage DP1 student, seized this exceptional opportunity and travelled to Germany for 3 weeks.

"Il y a deux semaines, nous partagions avec vous l’expérience de Thomas au sujet de son échange étudiant. Aujourd’hui, vous allez découvrir le témoignage d’Audrey, qui a passé 3 semaines en Allemagne :
« Durant mon échange de 3 semaines à Landheim Schondorf, j'ai eu l'occasion de me faire de nombreux amis et de m'immerger pleinement dans la culture allemande. Ma famille d'accueil allemande m'a fait me sentir comme chez moi, et m'ont même accueilli à l'aéroport avec une pancarte de bienvenue faite maison ! J'ai apprécié chaque instant. J'ai suivi les cours entièrement en allemand et j'ai constaté une nette amélioration de ma pratique de la langue. Ma famille d'accueil m'a emmené visiter Munich et nous avons eu la chance d'aller au célèbre Hofbräuhaus à Munich. J'ai adoré goûter toute une variété de plats bavarois tels que le Bretzel (qui sont beaucoup plus gros qu'en France !), l'Obatzda (une pâte à tartiner au fromage bavarois) et les Spätzle (des nouilles allemandes que j'ai particulièrement appréciées).
Landheim est une magnifique école située au bord du lac Ammersee, et l'école dispose de ses propres bateaux d'aviron pour les activités. J'ai beaucoup appris sur la culture allemande lors de ce séjour de 3 semaines. J'ai également eu la chance de participer au festival du Maibaumaufstellen : le 1er mai, chaque village, ville et cité en Bavière célèbre le 1er mai. Cette célébration traditionnelle se compose généralement de plats typiquement bavarois, accompagnés de bière, de musique et de danse autour du Maibaum (Le mât de mai). Ce mât est décoré de figurines et de rubans. Dana, ma sœur d'accueil, m'a présenté à ses amis venus du monde entier pour étudier dans l'école. J'espère qu'elle viendra me rendre visite en France cet été. Je recommande vivement à tous les élèves de participer au programme d'échange de l’Ermitage, c'était une expérience inoubliable !»
